Gastronomic Expo returns to the wide spaces of the WTC of Mexico City, with the expectation of receiving more than 120 exhibitors, who, in turn, expect the visit of more than 9 thousand visitors, all of them looking for new flavors and adventures in the kitchen.

After two years of being cancelled, due to the pandemic, the Gastronomic Expo resurfaces as one of the most important events in this area, not only in Mexico, but in Latin America, bringing together the extensive variety of our country’s cuisine.

Charles Aguirrepresident of Expo Food Service of Mexico, indicated that the restaurateurs and hoteliers, united in the HORECA sector (hotels, restaurateurs and catering) are a strong group that contributes 14 percent of the country’s GDP and the objective of the 2022 edition of the Expo, after the unquantifiable losses caused by the pandemic, is “to be an actor for exhibitors and visitors that contributes to the reactivation and support of the restaurant, hotel and food service industry, presenting the latest trends that the Mexican market demands, connecting the needs with the best suppliers that can cover them”

Gastronomic Expo It has quickly become accredited in the sector due to the diversity of exhibitors and the offer that the visitor finds, which guarantees that during the days of the event, visitors have access to first-hand information, advice, promotions and discounts; in addition to coming into contact with companies specialized in products and services for the hotel industry and businesses related to food, beverages and equipment.

The event, which will take place June 29 and 30 and July 1 at the WTCwill be a new space for the strengthening of various industries, not only gastronomy.

“The restaurant industry closed more than 100,000 establishments, the equivalent of 16 percent of all establishments in the country. The losses of entrepreneurs in this area remain at around 30 percent of their monthly income and that 19 percent of sources of employment were permanently closed,” he said. Sandra Flores Floresgeneral director of Expo Food Service of Mexico.
