WWE presented the 2023 Royal Rumble on January 28 live from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. This is the event where the winner of the Royal Rumble Match earns a match against the champion of their choice at WrestleMania 39.
– The 2023 Royal Rumble Pre-Show begins with the panel consisting of Kayla Braxton, Booker T, Jerry Lawler, Kevin Patrick and Peter Rosenberg welcoming us.
– We present Roman Reigns’ interview with Jimmy Fallon last night on the Royal Rumble.
– Behind the scenes, we see the Bloodline that is in silence. Reigns says that when he gives an order, the Bloodline must follow. It’s a recipe that works, it’s simple. He gives an instruction and Zayn cannot follow. Why can’t he do it? Sami was going to answer, but Jey Uso cuts him off and says it’s him. Jey says Adam Pearce took the two out of the game. Reigns was busy with his interview, he couldn’t talk to him, so he called Sami Zayn to get his help with the family. Zayn was there for the family. Reigns asks if it’s serious. Jey approves. Reigns says to think about tonight is the time to fight. Game plan, the Usos must watch their back, it’s a big night. For Zayn, he must follow him throughout the evening. He will show Zayn how to do it and the Usos stay backstage Because tonight is Zayn’s night. Zayn says he’s ready.
– Behind the scenes, Greg Miller of the show This is Awesome on the WWE Network finds JBL. JBL begins to criticize his worth saying that he would plug his phone into his machine to keep him alive. JBL changes the subject saying he wants to be his friend, but throws a pie in his face.
– We present a video on the return of Cody Rhodes.
– We present a video on the rivalry between Kevin Owens and the Bloodline.
– The Pre-Show ends with the last comments from the panel.
WWE Royal Rumble San Antonio, Texas
Commentators are Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Pat McAfee.
– Tonight is WWE Royal Rumble, the special show kicks off with the opening video with singer Hardy for narration. The commentators welcome us and the music by Pat McAfee begins. McAfee regains his place as commentator.
30-Man Royal Rumble Match
The winner will get a title match at WrestleMania 39.
Highlights:
- Gunther is the first participant. Sheamus comes second.
- Johnny Gargano returns from injury in #5.
- Brock Lesnar comes in at #12 and starts outing Santos Escobar, Angelo Dawkins, Chad Gable.
- Bobby Lashley arrives in #13 and manages to get Lesnar out of the ring! Lesnar is furious and launches a march of steel. Baron Corbin arrives in #14, but Lesnar booques him ringside to give him an F5. Officials arrive and Lesnar agrees to leave.
- #17, Rey Mysterio’s music starts, but no one arrives. In #18, Dominik Mysterio arrives with Rey’s mask on his head.
- Booker T arrives at #21, but Booker T does his Spin-A-Roonie and Gunther takes the opportunity to take him out.
- Edge returns in #24 and eliminates Finn Balor and Damian Priest. Edge wants to take Dominik out, but Priest and Balor pull Edge down the ring to take him out. Edge is furious and goes to fight Priest and Balor on the ramp. Rhea Ripley arrives to bang Edge! Beth Phoenix arrives and spears Ripley. Officials arrive to separate them.
- Logan Paul arrives in #29 and finally Cody Rhodes in #30.
At the end of the fight, Cody eliminates Theory with a Clothesline. Rollins, Gunther and Rhodes remain in the ring. Rollins and Rhodes trade blows. Logan Paul gets back in the ring and throws Rollins down the ring to surprise everyone! Rhodes blocks a shot from Paul and crosses him Rhodes and throws him down the ring. There remain Rhodes and Gunther. The two trade blows. Then Gunther slams him across the chest and passes him over the apron. Cody pushes him back and gets on the corner, but Gunther punches him and gets on the corner with him to do a Superplex. Rhodes regains energy and begins punching Gunther and Springboard Cutters him. Then, Rhodes crosses Rhodes and gets him out of the ring with a Clothesline.
Gagnant : Cody Rhodes
– After the fight, Cody celebrates his victory under the pyros.
Pitch Black Match
LA Knight vs Bray Wyatt
At the end of the fight, Knight wants to hit Waytt with a Kendo Stick, but Wyatt blocks him with a Sister Abigail for the three count.
Gagnant : Bray Wyatt
– After the fight, Wyatt puts a mask on his head. Knight flees into the crowd, but Wyatt chases after him. Knight wants to push him away with a Kendo Stick, but Wyatt stays on his feet. Wyatt applies his Mandible Claw submission to him. Uncle Howdy comes out of a podium and splashes Knight across the floor.
– We present the promo video of WrestleMania 39 which will take place in 63 days.
– WWE announces 51,338 fans in the room for tonight.
RAW Women’s Championship – Singles Match
Alexa Bliss vs Bianca Belair (c)
At the end of the fight, Bliss wants to do a Sister Abigail, but Belair knocks her down in KOD for the three count.
Winner: Bianca Belair
– After the fight, Belair celebrates on the ramp. A Bray Wyatt video begins and Bliss is left speechless.
– We present the video of Elimination Chamber 2023 in Montreal with Brock Lesnar.
30-Woman Royal Rumble Match
The winner will have a title match at WrestleMania 39.
Highlights:
- Rhea Ripley came first and Liv Morgan second.
- B-Fab arrives at #7 to make her first televised match on the main roster, but Ripley kicks her straight out of the ring.
- In #17 Asuka returns under new music and style.
- Doudrop returns as Piper Niven for #18.
- Chelsea Green returns in #20, but is eliminated directly by Ripley.
- Becky pulls Kai and Sky out of the ring, but Bayley takes the opportunity to push her down the ring. Liv Morgan takes the opportunity to push Bayley down the ring! Damage CTRL and Lynch exchange blows in ringside.
- Nia Jax makes her comeback in 30th, but the wrestlers team up to take her out.
At the end of the fight, Asuka, Ripley, Nikki Cross and Liv Morgan remain. Nikki tackles Asuka, but Morgan takes the opportunity to kick Nikki out of the ring. Afterwards, Ripley and Morgan face off on the apron. Asuka wants to take advantage, but Ripley blocks her and brings her to the apron. Asuka wants to do her Mist, Ripley avoids it, Morgan gets it in the face, Ripley pushes Asuka down the ring. Riplety relieves Morgan, but Morgan Code Breaks him. Riplet grabs a cable and knocks her out of the ring with a Head Scissors.

– After the fight, Ripley celebrates her victory under the pyros.
– Hardy and his band arrive in the ring to sing ”Sold Out”.
– We present a video on the rivalry between Owens and Reigns.
WWE Universal Championship – Singles Match
Kevin Owens vs Roman Reigns (c) accompanied by Sami Zayn and Paul Heyman
At the end of the fight, Owens goes for a Cannonball, but Reigns blocks him in Superman Punch and covers him, but Owens resists two. Reigns launches into Spear, but Owens pushes him back against the post. Owens Superkicks him and gets on the corner for a Swenton and covers it, but Reigns resists two. Owens gets on the corner, Reigns gets up and the two trade blows on the corner. Owens fends him off and launches into Moonsault, but Reigns dodges and spears him to cover, but Owens resists. Reigns launches into Spear, but Owens blocks it. Owens takes it into Stunner, but Reigns pushes it back onto the ref. Owens does his Pop Up Powerbomb on Reigns and covers him, but the referee is knocked out Reigns takes the opportunity to Low Blow Owens. Reigns asks Sami Zayn to give him a chair. Sami finds a chair and gives it to Reigns a little belatedly. Owens takes the opportunity to make his Stunner and covers it, but Reigns resists. Owens throws it for his finisher, but Reigns blocks it with Superman Punch and a Spear to cover it, but he still resists. Owens rolls down the ring, Sami tells Owens to stay down. Reigns spears him through the barricade. Reigns pushes him back first onto the steel step twice. Reigns takes him back to the ring and spears him for the three count.
Winner: Roman Reigns
– The show ends with a celebration of Roman Reigns and the Bloodline. Jey Uso wants to give Sami a flower necklace, but Reigns stops him. The Bloodline has fun pummeling Owens who is already on the ground. Solo Sikoa finishes with a Hip Attack to Owens’ head with a chair. Reigns pulls out the handcuffs to tie Owens to a cable. The Usos give him a series of Superkicks. Reigns wants to hit him with a chair, but Sami signals him to stop. Sami tells him that he doesn’t need to do that since he’s already dominating. Reigns gives the chair to Sami. Reigns says he gave everything to Sami, Sami has to do this if he wants to be in the family. Sami doesn’t know what to do. Reigns yells at him. Sami decides to hit Reigns on the back ! Jimmy Uso Superkicks Sami. Sikoa does his Samoan Spike on Sami. Jey decides to leave the ring and not participate in the attack on Sami.. Reigns begins a series of chair hits on Sami. The show ends with Bloodline leaving the ring.
