Summary WWE SmackDown December 9, 2022
We start SmackDown with the anticipated team title match.
– The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) defeat Brawling Brutes (Sheamus and Butch) and retain the WWE Unified Tag Team Championships. Sheamus and Jimmy start even. Butch takes over and finds himself in danger from his opponents. The champions manage to hang the Brawling Brutes with the string before the first break. Butch sees difficulties, especially when Jimmy attacks Sheamus behind the string. The challenger reaches his partner and achieves the relay. “The Celtic Warrior” gains the advantage, but the damage to his shoulder causes consequences to his actions. Sheamus surprises with a White Noise from the top of the ropes, but the count does not exceed two. Butch gets a jump on The Usos after another commercial break. The one from England manages to get ahead and connects a Powerbomb on Jey. Sami Zayn enters the ring for a distraction but Holland throws him out and is seen with Solo Sikoa. Butch takes over, but receives Day One and Sami stops Sheamus from ringside to secure the win.
Commentators recall that John Cena will appear on Friday Night SmackDown on December 30 in Tampa, Florida.
Braun Strowman greets Kurt Angle and Gable Steveson backstage. Strowman advises that he is impatient to face Steveson on SmackDown, to which the latter promises that his debut is near.
LA Knight occupies the quadrangle. He clarifies that his presence activated Bray Wyatt’s fears, which is why he was attacked three weeks ago. After showing evidence accusing his rival, Uncle Howdy appears on screen asking LA to “punish Bray, as he deserves to be punished.” Knight goes out to ringside to fix the situation on his own.
We review the attack that Shotz received in the parking lot before the show. Backstage, Ronda Rousey y Shayna Baszler they come forward as the responsible ones. Liv Morgan y Tegan Nox they confront them and promise that tonight they will emerge victorious.
Roman Reigns will return to Friday Night SmackDown next week.
– The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) vs. Legacy of the Ghost (Cruz del Toro and Joaquin Wilde) ends without result. Ivar and Erik start dominating until Joaquin distances himself with a Hurracarana. Suddenly, B-Fab comes out to the ring with a chair while his fellow classmates Hit-Row start an ambush in the ring. Ashante “Thee” Adonis, Top Dolla and Fab dominate the ring after a no match.
Ricochet and IMPERIUM enter the ring to agree on the starting fight next Friday. The New Day They go out to the ring, offering a fight with Ricochet before GUNTHER and his companions. The intercontinental champion and his challenger sign the contract, beginning a physical exchange on the way to the next match.
– Ricochet and The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) defeated IMPERIUM (GUNTHER, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci). Kaiser and Vinci look dominant in the early stages. Xavier is cornered until he distances himself. Kofi takes over and gains control, but a distraction from Kaiser prevents him from continuing the attack. Kingston is thrown into the announce table before a commercial break. GUNTHER and Ricochet enter the ring, beginning an even exchange. The other men become entangled in the exchange. Kaiser is caught with a Trouble in Paradise and Ricochet finishes him off with his Shooting Star Press for the victory.
A backstage, Jey Uso advises Sami Zayn cut his hair and beard to be presentable to “The Tribal Chief”. She promises him that next week could be a big night for him at The Bloodline.
In the middle of a medical examination, Karrion Kross talks to Rey Mysterio regarding what happened with Dominik a couple of weeks ago. She clarifies that he understands how difficult it is to lose a child, but promises that she will soon be able to help him “put an end to his suffering”.
– Tegan Nox and Liv Morgan defeat Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey. Tegan and Shayna start with an advantage for the newcomer. Ronda takes over and looks completely dominant with an Armbar. Nox gets her out of the way and they both relieve. Raquel Rodriguez appears and distracts Ronda Rousey, who abandons her partner when she receives the Shining Wizard for her team’s victory.
Kurt Angle takes the ring to celebrate his birthday before the public. Alpha Academy they interrupt him for not being invited to his party. Kurt leaves the ring and pulls up a milk truck with Gable Steveson. The venue is seen surrounded by the white liquid as Angle and Steveson celebrate with milk to close the broadcasts.

Kurt leaves the ring and approaches a milk truck next to Gable Steveson. The venue is seen surrounded by the white liquid as Angle and Steveson celebrate with milk to close the broadcasts.
