The Xiaomi brand has just announced the availability of the new mid-range smartphone, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G. But compared to the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, what are the differences? Here are the main features compared to find out which one would be right for you.
The new Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G smartphone is a reality and its design changes slightly compared to its predecessor, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. Its optical unit is notably more classy, with lenses that are placed on a plate slightly protruding from the rest of the back. This plate is in the same tone as the back of the mobile while it is black with a chrome touch on the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. The keys are identical as well as the connectors. The Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G is lighter than the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G with a weight of 187 grams against 202 grams. It is also thinner with a profile of 7.9 mm against 8.12 mm. It is very slightly lower, 162.9 against 164.19 mm and narrower 76 mm against 76.1 mm for the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G.
The new model is available in black, white or blue. It is particularly shiny, which is also the case with certain finishes on the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G.
New model more efficient than the previous one and Wi-Fi 6
The new Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G smartphone benefits from a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset which offers better performance than the Snapdragon 695 installed at the heart of the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. The smoothness will be more obvious, and the average power consumption should be more efficient. On paper, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G therefore offers better autonomy than the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G even if the battery capacity is identical (such as the charging power supported). The screen of the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 technology. In addition, it is compatible with the Dolby Vision video format, which is not the case on the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G on the same diagonal, still on an AMOLED panel. The Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G benefits from Wi-Fi 6 compatibility against Wi-Fi 5, which is less efficient on the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G.
Finally, while the previous one had a main 108 megapixel photo sensor swapped for a 50 megapixel module, Sony IMX766 capable of managing photos in wide-angle mode. This should provide more precision and better sharpness. The other two lenses are identical, for ultra-wide-angle and macro shots.
