XXXLutz takes over Lipo

The company giant from Austria, who cares about discretion, is also challenging Ikea in other countries. The two furniture dealers differ fundamentally, however.

Lipo operates 23 locations in Switzerland and sees itself as a discounter.

XXXLutz, Austria’s mysterious furniture retailer, is expanding in Switzerland and thus consolidating its position as number two behind the Swedish supplier Ikea. The company, which hardly publishes business figures and whose co-owner and boss, Andreas Seifert, has no public photos, acquires the furniture dealer Lipo.
