Sponsored by Fujiya Avic, “Spring Headphone Festival 2023” will be held at Nakano Sunplaza in Tokyo on the 29th. At the Yamaha booth, the super-dreadnought headphone amp “HA-L7A” was unveiled for the first time.

This is Yamaha’s first full-fledged headphone amplifier. Although the release date and price are undecided, it is expected to be a product in the price range that can be used in combination with the company’s already released high-end headphones “YH-5000SE” (495,000 yen). However, it is not exclusive to the YH-5000SE and can also be used with other headphones.

The biggest feature is the housing design, which is shaped like an L-shape. At first glance, it looks like a separate housing, but it is an integrated product, and the two round protrusions are the power supply part, and the front part is the amplifier part.

The two prongs are toroidal transformers that supply power to the headphone power amplifier. This power supply part is on the upper layer, and the switching power supply is mounted on the lower layer. This supplies power for the system. By separating it from the power amplifier section, the sound quality is enhanced.

The two protrusions are equipped with a toroidal transformer that supplies power for the headphone power amplifier.

The output as a headphone amplifier is very powerful at 1,000mW + 1,000mW (32Ω 1%). Equipped with DAC, adopt ESS 9038PRO. Works as a USB DAC, capable of native playback up to PCM 384kHz/32bit and DSD 11.2MHz. It also has a coaxial digital input and an optical digital input.

Also equipped with RCA and XLR pre/line out. In addition, although the details are undecided, the high sound field correction technology used in AV amplifiers etc. is also introduced into this amplifier, and it is said that it will be a product that can enjoy new ways of enjoying headphones by utilizing such correction.
