Dr. Hisham Rami, a professor of psychiatry, revealed how exercise contributes to improving mental and mental health in humans, noting that exercise helps in secreting the hormone of happiness and treating depression.

The professor of psychiatry said, during a telephone conversation with the “8 in the Morning” program broadcast on the “DMC” channel, that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body, explaining that this is achieved through regular exercise.

He added that sport is very beneficial for the heart muscle, as it improves the work of the heart and makes it deliver a sufficient amount of blood to the brain, and this is greatly reflected in increasing our ability to focus, interact with life, and cooperate with others.

Sport makes a person able to bear the pressures of life and adapt to problems

And he continued: “Studies have recently shown that exercising, such as walking, light jogging, or biking, for 5 days a week, about half an hour a day, leads to an increase in the secretion of some chemicals in the brain, the most important of which is the hormone of happiness, and that exercise makes a person able to withstand stress.” Life, flexibility and adapting to problems.

He pointed out that there is a study that says that regular exercise works as psychotherapy in cases of moderate depression.
