The weather forecast announces a very hot weekend. Temperatures up to 31 degrees in places, which should continue into early next week.

”This is a borderline case”, explains IRM meteorologist David Dehenauw to our colleagues from the Nieuwsblad. “Since the day before yesterday, this risk has increased”. The weather specialist explains that the risk of a heat wave is 50-50 because if temperatures are around 30 degrees, they could quickly drop. “We are awaiting new forecasts, but the alert may soon be extended to other provinces”he says.
To speak of a heat wave, temperatures must exceed 25 degrees for five consecutive days, and three of these 5 days must reach or exceed 30 degrees. For a heat wave to be decreed at the national level, these temperatures must be detected in Uccle, specifies David Dehenauw.
To be watched therefore. In the meantime, think about hydrating yourself and not exposing yourself too long to the sun during the hottest hours.
