The Second Vice President of the Government and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Diazadvanced this Tuesday that in spring will start the “active listening process” to promote a new project for a “broad, innovative, modern, democratic and different” country, which provides a “horizon of hope”.

This was detailed in an interview in The night in 24 hours, of TVE, in which he stressed that this listening phase will last approximately six months and that, later, as a result of his conclusions, he will assess “what he should do” within that “different” space, which is not limited to the left of the PSOE but aspires to be “majorities.”

Díaz clarified that “this does not mean” that she will be a candidate for the next elections, but this listening will help him check “if what I think can materialize”. In that sense, he said that his decision on the candidacy will be communicated when the time comes, and added that the promotion of this project will have a citizen character, where society will be the “protagonist” and the parties, and herself, will have a “secondary” role.

The minister explained that she is going “to tour my country with a single vocation, that of reducing the democratic gap between citizens and politics,” and added that in any case we must “listen to the people” because, “in the best”, she “can be a channel” given that she has been doing politics for a long time “without being a candidate”.

Visit to Andalusia

Díaz also advanced that she will soon make a visit for the first time since she is vice president in Andalusia, invited by the C COO and UGT unions, and that before April she will deploy a “very intense” agenda, with “many international trips”, but that has nothing to do with the framework of your new platform.

the leader of United We Can in the Executive, explained that after reflection, especially in view of the current political moment, he has decided “raise the flag of hope and illusion” with this round of meetings with civil society.

Díaz stressed, as he has been repeating on several occasions, that this project will be born with an electoral vocation, but it is not a “partisan thing” but rather a “citizen thing.”

Finally, he explained that there is already some idea about the future name of this platform, but she did not reveal any of the options because she is “very disciplined” with herself and allows herself to be “advised”.
