Since November 2022, Lauren Hoeve, then 27 years old, opened what she said would be her most personal blog and in it she documented what it is like to have a chronic disease such as myalgic encephalomyelitis, orthostatic intolerance in conjunction with autism, ADHD (Deficiency Disorder hyperactivity disorder), ARFID (avoidant or restricted food intake disorder), depression, an anxiety disorder, and a history of complex trauma, he shared on his page.
“All of this together makes it an intensely complex situation for me and those around me, but also for my therapists and other health care providers,” he noted.
In this space, the young woman spoke about what she described as her “journey towards euthanasia,” asking her followers for respect because, since then, she was sure that nothing would make her change her mind.
“You won’t change my mind about euthanasia and I don’t need unsolicited advice about my illness. I trust that I have done everything possible to save myself, but unfortunately life does not seem to be for me,” she asked.

Lauren’s family finally shared a farewell message on the blog thanking readers and sharing what Lauren’s final moments were like.
