Born in Lower Town Fribourg, Yves Zumwald has been running Swissgrid since 2016, the year when electricity was so cheap and plentiful that Swiss dams were up for sale. Trained at the Friborg Electric Companies (EEF), the Friborg resident went to work for Energie ouest suisse (EOS) and Orange. This electrical engineer is experiencing unprecedented times at the head of a company set up in 2006 in anticipation of the liberalization of the electricity market.
