Al-Marsad newspaper: The musician Jamil Mahmoud revealed that his ancestors won the honor of “the raft” with legal instruments from the nobles, stressing that the coming of the pilgrims made Mecca a meeting point for different cultures from the Levant, Egypt, Africa and others.

In an interview with the “Rawafed” program broadcast on the “Al Arabiya” channel, he said that he praises God for being one of the people of Mecca from his childhood until his old age, stressing that during the Hajj season, pilgrims came to Mecca from all over the Islamic world, bringing their cultures, customs and traditions, and mixing with the people of Mecca. Mecca, their lives were formed from the cultures of the Islamic world.

He pointed out that the pilgrims used to live with the people of Mecca in their homes, and they learned from them the ways of cooking food and arranging the house, to the extent that the pilgrims used to sit with the people of Mecca for an entire year.

He added: The last ship carrying the last group of pilgrims was in the month of Rajab, and during its return, it transported the last group of pilgrims who performed the rites of Hajj for the past year.
