[타이베이(대만)=권봉석 기자] “It’s been 4 years since 2019 at Computex. We have prepared a product that can reach domestic and overseas consumers by refining the design while maintaining the most important factor, performance.”

On the afternoon of the 31st (hereafter local time), at a booth in the Nangang Exhibition Center where Computex Taipei 2023 (hereinafter referred to as ‘Computex 2023’) is being held, Kim Seok-gi, head of Zalman Tech, explained this.

Zalman Tech has gained high recognition from domestic as well as overseas consumers with air-cooled CPU coolers and cases in the past. As if to disprove this, not only overseas visitors but also buyers and other industry officials visited the booth from time to time.

■ Exhibits cooling devices and cases with retro design and functionality

Zalman Tech exhibited ‘Alpha A24/A36’, an all-in-one water-cooling CPU cooler equipped with a small LCD display, at Computex this year. The processor temperature information is read from the PC BIOS and displayed on the heatsink that is in close contact with the processor.

Director Kim Seok-ki explained, “This year’s design trend is ‘retro-return.’ This product gave a future-oriented effect by interpreting the design of the cooling fan that was included with the processor in a modern way and strengthening functionality such as displaying the temperature on the indicator light.”

PC cases such as the ‘P50’ emphasized functionality. The top, left/right panels, and rear panels can be easily separated to increase the convenience of dust or parts replacement, such as cleaning. The ‘Z10 DS’ exhibited together has a 15.6-inch IPS LCD display on the front, which can display real-time operation information.

■ First launch of high-efficiency power supply and design-enhanced keyboard

Zalman Tech recently added a 750W/850W class product certified for 80 Plus Bronze efficiency to its flagship power supply ‘Gigamax II’.

Director Kim Seok-gi explained, “It is a product that complies with the ATX 3.0 standard confirmed by Intel last year. The power supply cable can be separated if necessary, and even when a high-performance graphics card demands high output in an instant, it is supplied without difficulty.”

Next to the power supply unit, a customized keyboard ‘Nori’, produced in collaboration with the design company ‘KLC&CO’, was displayed. Lee Yong-hyun, deputy manager of Zalman Tech’s keyboard business team, explained, “Since this is the first product we are trying out, a total of 4 teams came up with the design by recruiting a famous designer.”

Deputy General Manager Lee Yong-Hyun said, “In addition to the general keycaps, we provide additional character-applied keycaps and switches that can be customized to suit your taste, and springs have been applied to the switches.
