ZapSibNeftekhim: Russia’s Largest Petrochemical Project with Government Support

The Tobolsk plant “ZapSibNeftekhim” has become one of the largest projects in the field of development of petrochemicals with government support. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this without indicating the name of the enterprise during his speech at the VI International Forum “Russian Energy Week”.

“Large-scale oil and gas chemical projects with government support have been developed and are being implemented. Thus, a petrochemical plant was launched in Tobolsk, the Amur gas processing plant is increasing its capacity, an LNG production and gas processing complex is being built in Ust-Luga, as well as the Amur gas chemical complex. It is very important to continue supporting such projects,” Putin noted in his speech.

He added that the development of oil and gas processing is one of the priority strategic systemic tasks for the development of the Russian fuel and energy complex. And Russia, according to the president, has already made serious progress in this area.

Previously, the agency wrote that in December 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Tobolsk plant “ZapSibNeftekhim” During his visit, the head of state took part in a meeting on the development of the petrochemical industry.
