The innovations in the ZDFmediathek for August 2022 are here – and we had already anticipated a highlight a short time ago: “The Tourist” is coming to the ZDFmediathek, a ZDF co-production with HBO Max, the BBC and Stan, among others. Almost six hours are waiting for the viewers, shot in the big cinema look and lovingly cast with excellent actors down to the smallest supporting roles, the ZDF promises. “The Agent” with Diane Krüger – feature film online from August 1, 2022
“Die Agentin”, originally “The Operative”, is a German-Israeli-French spy thriller by Yuval Adler, which premiered on February 10, 2019 as part of the Berlinale and was released in German cinemas in August 2019. Rachel, played by Diane Kruger, is an Israeli Mossad spy who was trained in Germany. She attends her father’s funeral in London, but then disappears without a trace. The only clue: an encrypted message on the answering machine of her former contact Thomas. The spy thriller “The Agent” with Diane Krüger in the title role will be online from August 1, 2022.
Algiers Confidential – A Few Days of Light – Two Part Thriller – Online August 2, 2022
In the two-part thriller “Algiers Confidential – A Few Days of Light” the focus is on the German arms manager Peter Richter (Isaak Dentler), who is kidnapped in Algiers. In the search for the abducted BKA man Ralf Eley (Ken Duken) dives into a world of arms trading. What nobody knows: Eley has a secret relationship with the Algerian investigating judge Amel Samraoui, who is assigned to this case of all things – to be seen on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, 11:15 p.m. and Thursday, August 4, 2022, 11:00 p.m. on ZDF and from Tuesday, August 2, 2022, 10 a.m., for three months in the ZDFmediathek.
“Four walls plus” – eight-part comedy series / neoriginal – online from August 5, 2022
A new neoriginal is on the agenda: “Four walls plus” focuses on Martin, Anna, Freddie and Bo – they have founded a building group with friends and family and completely renovated a house, where they will all move in. The Bayonne Beast – 6 Part French Miniseries – Online August 7, 2022
A six-part crime drama is behind “The Bayonne Beast”: The free TV premiere of the French mini-series revolves around two cases of missing girls. In the small French town of Bayonne, little Charlotte first disappears without a trace during a storm of the century. Police officer Pierre Castaing, who is in charge of the investigation, has to release his main suspect, Serge Fouquet, for lack of evidence. Instead, the young rebel Tony Andreï comes under suspicion. For Castaing, however, it is clear that Fouquet is the kidnapper. His obsession with convicting him puts his life and that of his wife and their two daughters, Sarah and Lilas, to the test. Years later, Sarah Castaing, who now works as a police officer in Bordeaux herself, is confronted with the disappearance of another girl. Eleven-year-old Jade Munoz climbed into a white van. Since then there has been no trace of her.
