Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky on Monday asked Europe to close all ports to Russian ships and defended that “no one has the right to destroy the continent.”
In a message to the nation, the president has urged all Europeans, and especially the Germans, to exert greater pressure on Russia for the invasion of Ukraine. “It is necessary to close all European ports and prevent them from distributing their products, in addition to abandoning Russian energy resources,” he said.
“Germans, you have the power. Europe is stronger than any missile or tank. Without your trade, without your companies and banks, there will be no money in Russia to continue this war », she has asserted.
In this sense, he has emphasized the importance of “defending oneself”. “No one has the right to destroy Europe. Do not support the Russian war machine, do not give a single euro to the occupiers, close your ports », he insisted.
Thus, he has stated that he believes that “peace is possible if you work for it.” In addition, he has asserted that Ukraine is “part of Europe and wants to be”, something for which he “is fighting on the battlefield”.
“Thousands of people are dying in this brutal Russian war against our country. Before this our capital was compared to the new Berlin, (…) and now kyiv is exhausted », she said.
However, he recalled that Ukraine “is fighting for its own salvation against one of the largest armies in the world.” “We are fighting against the occupation, against those who shoot at refugees on the road and kill civilians, causing famines in entire cities and burning down neighborhoods,” she said.
Zelenski has put the number of children killed in the last three weeks of war at 115 and has pointed out that it is the “worst war in Europe since World War II.”
