Nothing is official yet regarding the future of the Bond series. The race to succeed Daniel Craig (56) as James Bond has still not been decided. Reports that British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson (33) would get the role were recently denied. The BBC initially put an end to the speculation. A production insider revealed that “there is no truth to the rumors.”
In addition to the cast of 007, his better half is also still being sought: the Bond girl. As an insider told the Daily Mail, two names are currently at the top of the film bosses’ wish list: Zendaya (27) and Sydney Sweeney (26).
Does Zendaya have a better chance?
“Sydney is under discussion, but something like that depends on the schedule, if the cast is right and the director thinks they are suitable,” reveals the insider. Zendaya should also have good chances, especially if Bond producer Barbara Broccoli’s (63) can hire her preferred director, Denis Villeneuve.
The 56-year-old has already worked with the 27-year-old on “Dune,” which would be a plus for Zendaya. “This is Barbara’s dream scenario. But since he is very busy, it might be difficult to sign him,” said the source.
There would probably also be a time problem with Zendaya and Sydney: both can be seen in the series “Euphoria”. Pre-production on the third season of the HBO series is scheduled to begin in 2025.
