Zhou Guanyu (Alfa Romeo F1) finished the qualifying for the 2022 F1 Round 11 Austrian Grand Prix in 18th place.
Zhou Guanyu suffered a big crash at the British Grand Prix last week, but fortunately he was not injured and was allowed to participate in the Austrian Grand Prix, which will be a series of battles. Zhou Guanyu says the car was wrecked and was rebuilt and struggled to adapt.
“Today was a pretty frustrating day for me,” commented Zhou Guanyu.
“I had a hard time with the tires on the first lap with such a short trap. On the second lap of the run, the tires worked much better, but the lap times improved slightly, but I still got the grip I wanted. I didn’t, and as a result I was eliminated in Q1. “
“Of course, the car was newly built and it wasn’t an easy session for me to have only one session to prepare and adapt.”
“Still, the car seems to be working fine and today it just lacked performance.”
“Overall, it’s the second sprint weekend, and I haven’t had much experience since my previous sprint at Imola was retired on the first lap, but tomorrow will be a good day and the grid for Sunday to compete for points. I hope you can raise it. “
“I think everything is open to us and we have to understand what went wrong today and improve from there.”
