Thalassery (Kannur) ∙ Judges, staff and lawyers of Thalassery Court have been confirmed to be infected with the Zika virus. Zika virus infection was confirmed in Alappuzha Virology Lab.
In 3 courts of the district court complex, people including judicial officers felt sick. The employees of the Additional Sessions Court (two), Principal Sub Court and Additional Sessions Court (3) have been suffering from severe fatigue, arthritis, pain and itching all over the body at different times for a month. Additional Sessions Court (3) judge is undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Kozhikode. A total of 55 people were diagnosed with symptoms. Blood samples of 23 of them have been sent to the Institute of Virology, Alappuzha.
