Zug gets out of the Lakers’ trap

Zug has quite a character. The double champion turned the situation around in Act II of the National League quarter-finals against Rapperswil to win 4-3.

Still trailing 3-2 less than three minutes from the end of the third period, Dan Tangnes’ men scored two goals in the 58th and 59th. Two successes born from a shot by Tobias Geisser, one of the most prominent defenders in the Zug camp.

The outcome is cruel for Saint-Gallois who had landed in Zug with determination and the desire to erase this defeat from the outset on their ice on Wednesday.

They were the ones who opened the scoring by Jeremy Wick in the 8th. We can even say that each time the Zugois managed to equalize and we could imagine that the momentum was on their side, Rapperswil always managed to regain the advantage.

Finally, that was before the last three minutes and this push from Zug which turned the tide. The Bulls therefore make the break in the series 2-0.

Davos equalize

In Graubünden, Davos showed Zurich that the series was going to be long. Les Jaune et Bleu won 2-1 to tie the score in the series 1-1.

Zurich knew that the evening would not be easy. On its ice, the Rekordmeister is always difficult to maneuver. And even if the Zurich people opened the scoring in the 13th via Azevedo, the Davos power play proved to be very effective. Fora equalized in the 19th and Stransky gave the advantage to his colors in the 39th. Yes, Davos was able to score just before the breaks.

Despite a logical push at the end of the game, the Zurichers were generally dominated by the players of Waltteri Immonen. Act III of this indecisive series will be held on Sunday.
