Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, the largest auto insurance company in Korea, has been caught in insurance fraud by an insider.

Surprisingly, insurance companies went on their own internal inspections.

This is the exclusive report by Park Jin-jun.

In June, a traffic accident was reported to Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance.

A car collided with a motorcycle, and the motorcycle was scrapped.

Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance paid the owner of the motorcycle 5 million won.

However, this accident was a fake accident that only made up documents.

An employee in charge of handling a traffic accident at Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance negotiated with the owner of the motorcycle and collected the insurance money.

As a result of Samsung Fire’s own investigation, this was further revealed.

After buying a corporate car by creating a ghost company in his father’s name, there was a situation where he made up an accident that didn’t exist and got insurance money.

Samsung Fire & Marine found this fact in its own audit and fired the employee.

It was estimated that the false insurance money that this employee received in this way was 500 million won over five years.

Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance also revealed the circumstances in which employees of other insurance companies were involved in this insurance fraud and said that it had requested the police to investigate.

“In principle, we are severely sanctioned when an accident of corruption occurs by our employees through preemptive audit activities.”

Samsung Fire & Marine said that the dismissed employees denied most of the charges except some.

Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance convened an emergency executive meeting, and other large insurance companies also conducted internal inspections.
