Unpublished Testori Letters Hit the Florence Stage
On Saturday, January 16, 2027, at 7:00 p.m., the Teatro Cantiere Florida in Florence will host the prosa production Per Sempre. The work centers on texts drawn from unpublished letters and postcards sent by Giovanni Testori to Alain Toubas.
Inside the Intimate Archive and Creative Team
Alongside the private correspondence, the performance incorporates I Trionfi di Giovanni Testori, which comprise private dedications from the author to Toubas. Alessandro Bandini conceived, created, and stars in the production, working from a dramaturgy and translation crafted alongside Ugo Fiore.
Alessandro Sciarroni serves as the external observer for the project, with Tindaro Granata providing coaching. Giulia Pastore handled scenic space consulting, while Elena Vastano designed the lighting. Ettore Lombardi managed styling, and Federica Furlani provided musical consulting. Alessandro Di Fraia operates as the lighting, audio, and video technician.
A Major Institutional Coproduction Network
LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura produced the work in coproduction with Piccolo Teatro di Milano – Teatro d’Europa, CTB Centro Teatrale Bresciano, and Emilia Romagna Teatro ERT / Teatro Nazionale. Additional collaboration comes from Casa Testori, the Institut Culturel Italien de Paris, and La Corte Ospitale di Rubiera. The production is supported by Inteatro Residenze and Fondazione Armunia, with production partnership from the Gruppo Ospedaliero Moncucco – Clinica Moncucco and Clinica Santa Chiara.

Examining Longing, Erasure, and Unconditional Affection
Bandini, a recent recipient of the Premio Mariangela Melato for young actors, gives voice and physical form to the struggente and mysterious story of love between Italian writer, playwright, director, and painter Giovanni Testori and Alain Toubas. Per Sempre is a show about the need to feel loved unconditionally and about pain, a visceral request to be able to love, and a cry not to be forgotten.
