A real tragedy occurred this Wednesday afternoon in Moerkerke, a section of the town of Damme in the Flemish Region. A 17-year-old student was riding his moped home when he was hit by a van. According to HLN, the victim was dragged by the vehicle.
The teenager died on the spot despite the rapid intervention of the emergency services. Our colleagues add that the exact circumstances of the accident are the subject of further investigation.
