The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) noted that 2.6 million travelers using cars had left the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas via toll roads. This amount was collected during the homecoming period H-4 of Eid 2024 or Saturday (6/4) evening.

“There were 536,620 cars leaving Jabodetabek via the Jasa Marga Toll Road with a total of 2,683,100 people,” said Ministry of Transportation spokesperson Adita Irawati in a written statement Monday (8/4).

According to Adita, this number decreased by 14.13% compared to the 2023 homecoming season. In 2023, there were recorded 624,886 vehicles with a total of 3,124,430 people leaving Jabodetabek on H-4.

“Meanwhile, when compared with the normal daily period, this number experienced a jump of 284.52%,” said Adita.

The Ministry of Transportation also recorded that 252,512 cars entered Jabodetabek via the Jasa Marga Toll Road with a total of 1,262,560 people. This number decreased by 44.21% compared to the same period in 2023. At that time, the number of four-wheeled vehicles entering Jabodetabek was 452,602 units with a total of 2,263,010 people.

“Meanwhile, when compared to the normal daily period, this number has increased by 125.15%,” said Adita. (Z-11)
