Today, Thursday, the draw for the knockout rounds of the tournament will be drawn AFC Champions League For the current season 2023-2024, at the Federation’s headquarters in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.

The Asian Football Confederation revealed on its official website the details of the tournament’s knockout round matches, noting that the draw includes 16 teams that have reserved their seats in the next stage of the competition, so that the clubs in the west of the continent will play the first leg matches of the round of 16 on February 12 and 13, 2024, and will play matches. The return will be on the 19th and 20th of the same month.

While the clubs in the east of the continent compete one day after the matches of the clubs in the west of the continent, with the first legs being played on the 13th and 14th of next February, and the return matches on the 20th and 21st of the same month.

The eight clubs that win the aggregate of the two matches in the round of 16 qualify for the quarter-finals, whose matches will be held on the 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th of next March for the western region of the continent, and on the 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th of the same month for the eastern region of the continent.

While the semi-final matches will be played on April 16 and 23, first leg, and on the 17 and 24 of the same month, back, with the final being held in two matches on May 11 and 18, 2024.

It is worth noting that of the 40 clubs that participated in the 21st edition of the most important competition at the club level in the AFC, when it was launched in September 2023, 16 of them qualified for the round of 16, with 8 teams from the West and East regions of the Asian continent, namely: Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Al-Nasr (Saudi Arabia), Al-Ain (UAE), Nasaf (Uzbekistan) and three second-placed clubs: Navbakhor (Uzbekistan), Sepahan (Iran), and Al-Fayhaa (Saudi Arabia).

While the eastern region of the continent includes the South Korean clubs Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, Yokohama Marinos, Kawasaki Frontale (Japan), Pohang Steelers, Ulsan Hyundai (South Korea), and Shandong Taishan (China).

Arab clubs have great chances of winning the title, with the presence of Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, runner-up in the last edition, and its compatriots Al-Nasr and Al-Ittihad, in addition to Al-Ain of the Emirates and others.

Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia, which won the tournament title twice with its modern system, is in the elimination rounds for the fourteenth time, which is a joint record, while Nafbakhor of Uzbekistan and Al-Fayhaa of Saudi Arabia reached this stage for the first time in their history in the competition.
