A youth soccer game in Winter Park, Florida, drew intense public scrutiny over the weekend after a viral video capturing a 3-year-old prodigy scoring goals against teammates crossed four million views, culminating in police arriving at the fields after a dispute between league officials and the child’s parents.
The incident, which unfolded at an i9 Sports program in Winter Park, centers on a young player named Nevada. While online posts accompanying the footage claimed the family was asked to leave because the toddler was simply playing too well, local law enforcement and league representatives offered a different picture of events involving heated arguments and concerns over player safety.
Police Footage Shows Reports of Player Pushing Children
According to statements and media released by the Winter Park Police Department, officers were dispatched to the sports complex following a 911 call from a league official reporting a family disturbance. Body-camera footage captured the official telling police that the young player was very advanced for his age group but had been pushing other children on the field.
He scores a lot of goals, but he pushes the kids, so I try to tell him, ‘hey, don’t push, we wanna play without pushing, right?’
the league official said on the footage, adding that a larger confrontation erupted with the boy’s parents when the official told the refs to do something about the pushing.
The official also referenced a prior dispute weeks earlier where he claimed he was called ignorant
during an argument over swapping the player out to give other children a chance to play. On the day of the viral incident, the official requested that the family leave the premises immediately, offering a refund of their league registration fees.
Mother Claims Son Is Targeted for Athletic Skills
When officers spoke with the boy’s mother, she expressed profound confusion over the situation, asserting that her family was being targeted simply because her son possessed advanced athletic skills.
I’m a little baffled and a little confused because I signed my kid up for soccer, and they’re kicking him out of this place because he’s good at soccer,
the mother told responding officers, noting that they typically watched from the opposite side of the field and only intervened when they noticed other parents gathered and talking about the child.

Police confirmed that by the time officers approached the family, the match had concluded and the parents were already preparing to leave. Authorities emphasized that the dispute remained entirely civil rather than criminal. No arrests were made, no trespass warnings were issued, and the family was not forcibly removed from the park.
In a formal statement addressing the public reaction, management for i9 Sports Maitland/Winter Park acknowledged the widespread attention.
