[마이데일리 = 김종국 기자] Son Heung-min was ranked at the top of the 30 Ballon d’Or nominees list.
France Football announced the 30 nominees for the 2022 Ballon d’Or on the 13th (Korean time). Son Heung-min, who scored 23 goals in the Premier League last season and won the top scorer, is the only Asian player to be selected for the 30 Ballon d’Or nominations. Son Heung-min was named in the 30 Ballon d’Or nominees for the second time in his personal career following 2019 when Tottenham made Tottenham in the Champions League final. Son Heung-min finished 22nd in the final 2019 Ballon d’Or rankings.
On the 13th, Give Misport, England, predicted and introduced the 30 Ballon d’Or candidates. Heung-Min Son was ranked 11th out of 30 Ballon d’Or nominees. He ranked fifth among players who played in the Premier League last season.
Give Misport nominated Benzema (France) as the most likely candidate for the award among the 30 Ballon d’Or nominees. Benzema scored 44 goals for Real Madrid last season, leading them to the Champions League and La Liga titles. Mane (Senegal), who played for Liverpool last season and led Senegal’s African Cup of Nations after winning the FA Cup and League Cup, was ranked second in the Ballon d’Or candidate list. Lewandowski (Poland), who scored 50 goals for Bayern Munich last season and led the league title with the Bundesliga top scorer, took third place.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Mbappe (France) placed 4th, and Salah (Egypt), who was joint top scorer in the Premier League with Son Heung-min last season, finished fifth. In addition, Vinicius (Brazil), Modric (Croatia), Courtois (Belgium), The Bruneer (Belgium) and Van Dyck (Netherlands) were included in the top 10.
Haaland (Norway) was ranked 12th, lower than Son Heung-min. Kane (England), who was included in the 30 Ballon d’Or nominees at Tottenham Hotspur along with Heung-Min Son, was ranked 15th, and Ronaldo (Portugal) was also ranked 16th, which was lower than Heung-Min Son.
Meanwhile, this year’s Ballon d’Or winners will be announced on October 17th.
