Living expenses discount for 5 million won in cash

Support equivalent to that of a ‘special disaster area’ will be provided to victims of Seocheon Special Market in Seocheon-gun, South Chungcheong Province, which was devastated by a major fire ahead of the Lunar New Year. Victims will receive at least 5 million won in cash and receive additional discounts on electricity bills and taxes.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security announced on the 28th that it will support 38 items, including direct support, taxation, and financial support, following the order of President Yoon Seok-yeol, who visited the site on the 23rd, to review whether to declare a special disaster area and provide equivalent support if difficult.

Emergency support of 5 million won is being provided to the victims, including 2 million won in emergency disaster relief expenses for each damaged commercial building and 3 million won in livelihood stabilization support expenses for small business owners.

We will also prepare a plan to support living expenses together with local governments. Emergency management stabilization funds will be supported, and national and local tax reductions and tax payment deferrals, special guarantees for small business owners in disasters, loan maturity extensions, and repayment deferrals will also be promoted. In addition, national health insurance premiums are reduced, and city gas, electricity, telecommunications, water and sewage fees are also reduced.

When local love gift certificates are used at affected merchant affiliated stores, the discount rate will be increased from the existing 10% to 20%, and the cost of increasing the discount rate will be supported by government funds. It was decided to pay early insurance payments up to 50% of the estimated insurance amount to victims who signed up for fire insurance before the damage investigation was completed.
