“It is true that those who have already contracted Covid-19 can keep the consequences of the disease. These people become more vulnerable to viruses but can also have severe flu symptoms. That’s why it’s important to get vaccinated against the flu,” emphasizes Dr. Fazil Khodabaccus.
Note that it is possible to get vaccinated in the five regional hospitals on the island from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. While seasonal flu seems like a simple little infection, Dr. Fazil Khodabaccus stresses that the disease should not be trivialized. In fact, the flu can be fatal, as it kills between 290,000 to 650,000 people worldwide each year.
