Nigerian sprinter Blessing Okagbare has been suspended for ten years for using prohibited substances and failing to cooperate in the investigation by anti-doping authorities.
The announcement was made by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) on Friday.
Okagbare, 33, who was one of the underdogs in the 100m at the Tokyo Olympics, had been provisionally suspended and excluded from the Olympics just before the semi-finals of the straight line on July 31, 2021 for doping with growth hormone in following an out-of-competition test on 19 July. In early October 2021, she had been pinned again for testing positive for EPO earlier in the season.
