North Korea officially announced that the missile it launched yesterday was a new intercontinental ballistic missile, the Hwasong 17.
This is the first time that North Korea has released footage of the Hwasong-17 launch.
Chairman Kim Jong-un personally visited the launch site and supervised the entire process, and released a video of that.

Missiles mounted on mobile launch vehicles roar and soar into the sky.
Chosun Central TV reported extensively that North Korea successfully test-fired a new ICBM ‘Hwasong 17’ yesterday.

“A gigantic (powder-filled) entity slammed the earth and soared far into space.”
North Korea claimed that the Hwasong Type 17 climbed to a maximum peak altitude of 6,248.5 km, and flew 1,090 km in 4,052 seconds, 1 hour 7 minutes 32 seconds, and landed precisely in the planned waters on the high seas of the East Sea.

“(Chairman Kim Jong-un) has perfected the Hwasong Type 17 weapon system as a condensed body of Juche power, a creation of self-reliance, a key strike means of the DPRK’s strategic armed forces, and a reliable means of deterring nuclear war.”
It was also revealed that Chairman Kim appeared at the Pyongyang Sunan Airport wearing black leather clothes and black sunglasses, directing the entire launch process.
The ‘Hwasong 17’ first appeared at the parade ceremony for the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Labor Party in October 2020, but this is the first time the launch scene has been released.
Experts analyzed that the fact that Chairman Kim was exposed several times while walking near the ‘Hwasong Type 17’ was intended to emphasize the scale of the new ICBM.
After the test launch was over, they also shared a picture of smiling broadly with soldiers and scientists taking a commemorative photo.

North Korea’s large-scale disclosure of the launch scene is interpreted as an intention to show off that it succeeded in relaunching the Hwasong 17 only eight days after the failed launch on the 16th.
