This Sunday evening, around 7:50 p.m., the Liège firefighters were called to Wandre where they were told that a man had just thrown himself into the Meuse from the well-known bridge. Fortunately, an individual attending the scene got on a jet ski and came to his rescue, they say. The Walibu Beach Club in Wandre, where water sports enthusiasts meet, is indeed located right next to the bridge.
The “diver” is safe and sound, specify the firefighters of Liège who went on the spot but who finally did not even have to intervene.
We do not know, at present, if it was a desperate attempt or simply a dive “for fun”.
