From next month, it will be compulsory to connect your car to the charging station when it is parked in a space provided for this purpose, reports the Nieuwsblad.
Concretely, electric or hybrid vehicles must be connected to the charging station: the socket must be plugged in and the connection between the vehicle and the terminal must be activated.
The purpose of this new rule is to prevent “free” parking in places equipped with charging stations, which are still limited in number in Belgium.
