Jean-Jacques Rousseau finds his plate in Saint-Gervais
The historical plaque celebrating the national writer has been cleaned and returned to rue Rousseau.
Number 27 rue Rousseau has found the plaque placed in 1793 to honor the memory of Geneva’s most famous writer, Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Cleaned, gilded, it was unveiled on Saturday morning in the presence of the President of the Council of State Mauro Poggia, representatives of the Old Grenadiers, the Geneva Public Utility Company (SGUP) and the President of the European Committee Jean-Jacques Rousseau , Remy Hildebrand. About fifty people attended the ceremony, which was held under a light rain, but brightened by the warm colors of the Geneva flag.
