Tired of being bombarded with messages? This new Instagram feature will delight you

Need 15 minutes of peace, without being disturbed by a notification? Instagram is launching a new feature so that you (finally) have peace: “Quiet Mode”.

Already launched

As of yesterday, users in the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland and Canada can say to their followers “Leave me alone” by activating “Quiet Mode”.

“Quiet Mode on Instagram turns off notifications and sends an auto-reply when someone directs you, so you can focus on things like driving or studying,” according to the app.

This passage in “Quiet Mode” is also indicated in public with the mention “In Quiet Mode” which appears in the bio, preceded by a small crescent moon symbol. This way, your friends will know that you are inundating with messages that are of no use, you do not see them.

And with us?

It is not yet known when the feature will arrive with us. Be patient and remember that all you have to do is go to “Settings”, “Notifications”, tick “Quiet Mode” and select the period during which you do not want to be disturbed to access the holy grail of tranquility. “When the feature is off, we’ll show you a quick summary of notifications so you can catch up on what you missed,” Meta says.

It is not certain that this option will limit your screen time (given the large number of applications on our smartphones) but we welcome the effort!
