According to a report by Het Laatste Nieuws, the victims, a father and his son, died several weeks ago due to suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. The cause was believed to be a faulty diesel generator, but an autopsy is yet to be conducted to rule out any possibility of suspicious circumstances. The Mayor, Christophe D’Haese (N-VA), offered his condolences to the family of the victims.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, the death of the victims dates back several weeks. The father and his son were allegedly victims of CO poisoning, probably caused by a faulty diesel generator: “An autopsy will follow to reject the possibility of a suspicious death”, declared the mayor, Christophe D’Haese (N- VA) to our colleagues.
The family of the victims has been notified: “I wish to express my deepest condolences to them”, continued the mayor.
