On Friday February 25, 2022, a dozen civilians were kidnapped and attacked by highway robbers on the Bouca axis. The phenomenon of highway robbers worries more and more the populations of the Central African Republic. These thugs are often likened to elements of armed groups. Last Friday, February 25, dozens of civilians, traders were kidnapped and attacked in the village of Gbakara, located 25 kilometers from Bossangoa on the Bouca axis, by these offenders. The assailants took the goods of these traders. A group of armed individuals, assimilated to Anti-Balaka militiamen (according to the local population), armed with AK-47 submachine guns intercepted and held up about ten traders coming from Bouca. The assailants took their victims to the bush in order to dispossess them. Two of the retained traders managed to escape. Highway robbers also opened fire and shot another motorcyclist who refused to stop. They took away five motorcycles as well as the cargo carried. Informed of the news, FACA soldiers and internal security elements went to the scene. For the local populations, the resurgence of acts of banditry in the locality has become increasingly worrying. They ask the government to reinforce the operational forces of the army.
