A Drummondville Voltigeurs prospect has died

Drummondville Voltigeurs hope Francis Durocher is gone. He died on Saturday following a battle with leukemia.

The organization of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (LHJMQ) confirmed this sad news on Twitter. He was 17 years old.

“Last March, the organization informed you that [Durocher] was affected by the disease, wrote the Voltigeurs. On behalf of all Voltigeurs players, staff, volunteers and partners, we offer our sincere condolences to Francis’ family and loved ones.”

Durocher played on the blue line of the Riverains of Charles-Lemoyne College. He was selected in the third round of the 2021 QMJHL draft.

The Saint-Lambert native wore the colors of the Voltigeurs for six games last season.
