A fan ties himself to the goal post and the reason has nothing to do with football (video)

A fan tied his neck to the goal post during the match that Everton, seeking to escape relegation, beat its guest Newcastle 1-0 at Goodison Park, with a goal in the 99th minute, in a postponed match of the twentieth stage of the English Premier League, Thursday.

The group “Just Stop Oil” adopted this incident in a statement, which is pushing to stop drilling for fossil fuels in Britain.

After a long pause in the match, stadium staff managed to free the fan after they cut the ligament with scissors.

A similar incident occurred during Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in London on Wednesday, when a fan tried to tie his hands to the post as well.
