A fan ties himself to the goal post and the reason has nothing to do with football (video)

A fan tied his neck to the goal post during the match that Everton, seeking to escape relegation, beat its guest Newcastle 1-0 at Goodison Park, with a goal in the 99th minute, in a postponed match of the twentieth stage of the English Premier League, Thursday.

The group “Just Stop Oil” adopted this incident in a statement, which is pushing to stop drilling for fossil fuels in Britain.

After a long pause in the match, stadium staff managed to free the fan after they cut the ligament with scissors.

A similar incident occurred during Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in London on Wednesday, when a fan tried to tie his hands to the post as well.

The Saudi Investment Fund owns 80% of Newcastle, knowing that Saudi Arabia is one of the largest oil exporters around the world.

Because of the incident, the referee granted 14 minutes of overtime, which allowed Nigerian Alex Iwobi to score the winning goal in the 99th minute, giving Everton the first victory after a series of four defeats in a row in the league.

Frank Lampard’s team raised its score to 25 points in 17th place, the first safe place, three points from Watford’s 18th, knowing that “Tovez” played two fewer games. While Newcastle suffered the second loss in a row after falling against Chelsea, to freeze its balance at 31 points in the fourteenth place.
