Despite the blockage of the internal horizon in light of the intransigence of the internal forces in their political positions and their adherence to their candidates, a glimmer of hope began to loom on the horizon of the region, suggesting that there might be an opportunity to reach a political settlement in Lebanon.

According to informed political sources, the consensus on the Lebanese file has jumped significantly over the past few days, in order to prepare an integrated basket to avoid going to a unilateral settlement linked exclusively to the name of the next President of the Republic. The sources pointed out that the meeting held between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris witnessed a serious discussion and exchange of views on the Lebanese crisis and how to address it and manage the next stage in the Lebanese interior.

The sources believe that the Saudi side is still on its stance towards the French initiative, meaning that the kingdom is seeking to lend the French a non-obstructing position in the Lebanese arena, and the lack of obstruction here means that it would open spaces for convergence to reach a solution through internal or external settlements. Therefore, the French returned again to operate their engines on the Lebanese line, with the aim of re-understanding the balances that were imposed after the last session of the Parliament, which reshaped the parliamentary reality, so it was necessary to resume feeling the pulse among the various political forces after the session.

It is expected that the tripartite contacts, at a minimum, between Iran, Saudi Arabia, and France will crystallize mainly to develop a formula that may be immediate or medium-term for a solution in Lebanon in a way that preserves the interests of all parties and enables them to prevent reaching the economic, financial and social abyss.
