The occupants, a young couple, were absent when the fire started. The lady arrived on the scene and tried to save her dog. This woman suffered serious second-degree burns to her forearms.”

The victim was admitted to the Ronse hospital. “His dog unfortunately died,” adds the lieutenant. Despite the means deployed by the firefighters, the building was completely destroyed. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The affected couple will be rehoused with their family.
