Sports Copiapó y copperloa drew 0-0 in the first game of the final of the Liguilla de Ascenso de First Bwhich gives the second place to the 2023 National Championship.
A duel that was marked by friction and ‘encounters’ of players from both casts, which, fortunately, did not go any further.
The key appeared as a couple in the previous one, considering that the third and second of the year were measured, respectively. And that was endorsed on the field this day.
The ‘León de Atacama’ and the ‘Zorros del Desierto’ did not get much difference. In fact, in the first half, both teams had accurate chances to open the scoring.
Juan Jaime, at 21′, smashed a shot off the post that almost surprised Matías Cano and made the fans vibrate at the Luis Hermosilla stadium.
Cobreloa, meanwhile, responded through David Escalante, with a header that impacted the roof of the copiapino portico at 32′.
In the second period, from the start, the hosts brought danger with a shot by Jorge Luna that was blocked by Cano, and on the rebound the goalkeeper responded again -with the help of his vertical- against Maxi Quinteros.
From then on the match was locked to more than power. Meetings, insults and friction were present on the field. Without going any further, Camilo Ponce in the home owners and Nicolás Palma in the visitors saw the red card.
Afterwards there was no greater risk on the porticos. Only somewhat annulled to Copiapó in the discounts, which left a strange taste in the premises but the situation would have been endorsed by the VAR -they detailed in the official transmission-.
