Chennai: A Malayali youth who used girls for prostitution by promising them an opportunity to act in movies and serials was arrested in Chennai. Thrissur Muriyad resident K. Kiran (29) was arrested. The police arrested him from his house in Annanagar.
Kiran was arrested on the basis of a tip-off received by the police. He also promised the girls that they would get jobs in private companies with good salaries.

During the police check, two women including a foreign woman were rescued. It was also found that the girls were taken to apartments and bungalows by Kiran as an intermediary.
The police said that young women, including those from other states, were brought to Chennai by threats and used for prostitution in the name of work. Kiran was produced in the court and released in judicial custody.
