A couple in their fifties was seriously injured by their dog on Thursday evening in Westkerke, in the province of West Flanders. The dog became enraged for no apparent reason, according to information from Het Laatste Nieuws.
“I was in my room. When I heard what was happening, I immediately went downstairs. I took a metal object and when I opened the garage door, I saw the dog. He was still holding Mom. I hit him on the muzzle and he loosened his grip,” the couple’s child said.
The mother suffered serious head injuries and the father is in serious condition after losing a lot of blood. The child, in shock, was taken to hospital as well.
A veterinarian went to the scene to calm the animal.
