Kailia Posey has died just two weeks after her 16th birthday. The American became known as a five-year-old through an appearance on the controversial TV show “Toddlers and Tiaras” and through a GIF meme from the show as a “grinning girl” for the Internet hit.

Posey’s mother, Marcy Posey Gatterman, shared the sad news on her Facebook page: “I have no words or thoughts. My beautiful baby is gone. Please respect our privacy as we process the loss of Kailia. My baby forever.” it there. She explained to the news portal TMZ Unfortunately, although she was a successful teenager and had a bright future ahead of her, she made the hasty decision at a heady moment to end her earthly life.

Kailia Posey had big plans

The reality show “Toddlers and Tiaras” follows young children and their families as they prepare for beauty pageants. Posey appeared in two episodes of the show in 2012. Already at the age of three she began to participate in such competitions. She continued this hobby until shortly before her death. It was only in February 2022 that she took part in the “Miss Washington Teen USA” election and was among the top three.

She was still attending high school and, according to her mother, had recently been accepted into the school’s cheerleading team. She also planned to start a career as a pilot after graduation and continue to work in the entertainment industry on the side.
