A popular and inexpensive drink may lead to ‘longevity’ and reduce the risk of death by 82%

Al Marsad newspaper: Researchers show that green tea consumption may lead to ‘longevity’ and reduce the risk of death by up to 82% for some people.

One study published in JAMA showed that individuals who consumed the highest amounts of green tea reduced their risk of cardiovascular disease by up to 82%.

The results indicated that those who drank at least five cups of green tea per day were 76% less likely to die compared to those who did not drink.

And the American Association for Cancer Research reported: “Green tea is rich in polyphenols, which have powerful antioxidant properties. The most abundant polyphenol in green tea is EGCG,” according to the “Express” newspaper.

Tea is believed to have a powerful effect on aging and age-related phenotypes because it regulates the stress response, which in turn affects lifespan.
