A rally of 2,500 people was held at Seoul Plaza to condemn the humiliating diplomacy against Japan.

The ‘National Rally to Criticize Humiliating Diplomacy against Japan’ was held at Seoul Plaza at 2:00 pm today to criticize the results of the Korea-Japan summit.

Today’s rally was attended by about 2,500 progressive civic groups and citizens, including the South Korea-Japan Historical Justice and Peace Action and the South Korean Committee for the Implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration, while a large number of opposition politicians, including Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung and Justice Party leader Lee Jung-mi, also attended.

At the rally, attendees said, “The past Korea-Japan summit was a historic disaster,” and criticized, “It was a tribute diplomacy that sold out all of historical justice, economy, military security, and victims’ human rights, and inflicted deep wounds and shame on the people.”

In addition, he urged the withdrawal of the ‘third party reimbursement proposal’ for victims of forced labor, saying, “President Seok-yeol Yoon is not qualified, so please step down.”

They plan to march to the Japanese embassy in Korea in Junghak-dong, Jongno-gu after a rally at Seoul Plaza.

Previously, CEO Lee Jae-myeong said on his SNS, “The Korea-Japan summit was the most embarrassing moment in diplomatic history,” and encouraged them to attend the pan-national convention today.
