The aircraft left Higuerote for Camp Uruyen, adjacent to Auyantepuy; however, no further information was obtained following takeoff.
The plane identified with the initials Acft YV 1216 was located in the western sector of the Canaima National Park.
Captain Carlos Llovera, who was piloting the damaged aircraft, would have been uninjured. However, a second passenger would have died in the plane crash.
Unofficially, it was learned that the body would be transferred to Ciudad Bolívar. There has been no confirmation from the authorities yet.
