A video where we see a teacher tackling a student on the ground has gone viral in Flanders. The scene took place in Antwerp this Monday in the Pius X Institute.
At the beginning of the video we can see two students who are arguing and who start to come to blows. A teacher then intervenes between the two brawlers and causes a student to fall. He then gets up immediately and the teacher blocks his way by pinning him to the ground.
The director of the establishment made a point of expressing himself and recalling that the physical integrity of his students and staff was his priority. “We are aware of the case and we will discuss it with the people concerned. We are also sending a note to all students with further information. We want serenity in our establishment“, explained director Jan Maddens.
“The teacher is a trustworthy person”
A sixth-year student still wanted to contact the HLN editorial staff in order to qualify the seriousness of the situation. “I have known this teacher for more than 7 years and he has always been a trustworthy person, to whom the students can turn. For example, if someone did not have their picnic for the meal, they take care of it themselves“.
The student continues his story by pointing to the student on the ground. “On the other hand, I also know the student well, and he has always had a lot of behavioral problems. Many other students will go in my direction too.”
