As La Voix du Nord reports, the frontal impact took place on Friday, around 9:20 p.m., on the A23 motorway, before the Raismes-Vicoigne exit.
It is due to a vehicle which was traveling in the opposite direction, in the direction of the regional metropolis, which struck a car which was going in the right direction. A video posted on social networks shows the last moments before the impact: it clearly shows a car driving in the opposite direction on a highway where traffic is then quite sparse, before the shock occurs.

The collision left two injured. The driver of the oncoming vehicle, aged 23, was slightly injured, the driver of the other car, aged 38, was more seriously injured. They were both transported to the Valenciennes hospital center.
About twenty firefighters went to the scene immediately after the incident to take care of the victims.
An investigation is underway to determine why one of the two vehicles was traveling in the wrong direction.
